I teach religion, science, social studies and health to the 8th grade class. I am also the 6th and 7th grade social studies teacher, and the 7th grade science teacher.
My background brings both educational and life experiences that make my chosen career a natural fit. I was raised internationally, having lived in Brazil, Afghanistan, Jordan and Egypt, and traveled to countless locations worldwide. I received my bachelor's degree from Longwood College, Va., in psychology, and a master's degree in neuroscience at The Ohio State University. God had other plans for me, though. After starting a family, my passion for history would not be quieted, and I decided to return to graduate school for an M.Ed. emphasizing history and political science.
I am so grateful for the opportunity to be a teacher, especially at Our Lady of Peace, where my own children attend school, and where I have taught going on ten years. My backgound, together with a deep admiration for my Catholic upbringing, brings a unique perspective to the classroom. It is with these always present that I infuse into instruction the appreciation for all cultures, past and present, and the promotion of peace and human dignity worldwide.
This final year for the students is one of academic rigor, but also a number of memorable, fun experiences.
