Author Susan Levine, illustrator Erin McCauley Burchwell and a peregrine falcon from the Ohio Bird Sanctuary came to Our Lady of Peace during Right to Read Week 2011.

Packard Takes Flight is the first children's picture book written about Ohio's state capital. It is based on the true story of peregrine falcons nesting on the Rhodes Tower in downtown Columbus. The book is engaging for children, yet filled with information about the city's history and the wonderful sites and cultural amenities around Columbus. In the back, there are facts about peregrine falcons, a map of downtown Columbus and contact information for all the sites mentioned in the book.
OLP students participated in the Battle of the Books.
